Summer Shorts

What was that?  A peek of sunshine I saw straight after that down pour and thunder storm right on school drop - always happens!

I don't know about you guys, but I am hanging out for summer!  I will take spring first as I want to get my veggie gardens established, but summer - bring it on.

1st Sept is an exciting day for me - its marks the day where my legs come out of permanent hibernation and time to do 3 things -
* Shave said legs
* Exfoliate and get rid of any dry patches
* Fake tan.  When I say this, I kinda cringe as I know I am terrible at applying it. I ALWAYS get a patch of overly brown tinge somewhere and streaks!!!  Don't talk to me about streaks!
Anyway, I have found a new self tan that I have bought on the promise from all social media influencers who use it, that it is going to be amazing!  littlehoney.co.nz
I bought the Flawless Bronzing Kit, that includes the bronzing mist and the blending glove.  I am hoping I have found THE ONE that I can get right on my pasty pins!

Ok, so now we have covered the leg issue - its time for shorts.
To be honest with you, I like a longer length short as I have a thigh full of spider veins but I seem to own a lot of short shorts! (obviously those spider veins are not too bothersome to me)

Here's some of my top tips for shorts wearing that may help some of you ladies out.
* If you are feeling confident (of course you are!) front tuck your top!  Same principle with pants and jeans - it will elongate your legs as its showing off the entire front of the shorts right up to the waist band.  If you have enough fabric in your top, you could try a knot if tucking is not your thing.
* Don't be afraid of sizing up - I usually do in shorts, they just feel better on me personally - especially in the changing room when doing the "sit test" - I know we all do it!
* If you want a super lightweight short, that's cool to wear even in the hottest climes, then opt for a linen blend.  A linen / cotton blend is also a good option if you want to reduce those summer sit down and have a mojito wrinkles and crinkles in them.
* A wider fit short will slim your leg.

I have done a little research of what's out there, and even though the following includes "short shorts" I think I, and hopefully you will have plenty of choice this summer.  There are some gorgeous prints and styles in most high street and boutique shops now - they must have seen that sunshine peek at them too!  (side note, the One Teaspoon denim shorts I have added below I love because it seems every pair of cut off denim shorts I try, I feel rather "cheeky"....the longer length of these at the back are great!)
